Sunspot Groups on the Solar Photosphere

This image of the Sun was captured on June 27, 2026, revealing several active regions across the solar photosphere. Visible in the image are sunspot groups AR4477, AR4478, AR4479, and AR4480, each representing areas of intense magnetic activity on the Sun’s surface.
The image was captured from Nagymaros, Hungary, using a monochrome camera together with a Baader Solar Continuum filter. This filter enhances the contrast of photospheric details, making sunspot structures and the Sun’s fine granulation significantly more visible.
Despite the strong summer heat and challenging daytime atmospheric turbulence, brief periods of steady seeing allowed this detailed solar image to be recorded.
